Preventing and relieving Homelessness is a
Mayoral and national government priority.
The service will support individuals who are at risk of, or facing
homelessness, and who face additional barriers related to their
immigration status that prevent them from moving on. It will thus
help to reduce the number of rough sleepers in Greater Manchester
and prevent them from returning to the streets. This will also
increase move on from ABEN allowing further individuals to access
support.
To enter into a contract for the Greater
Manchester Restricted Eligibility Support Service, 1 April 2023 to
30 March 2024, with the option to extend for a further 12
months.
The service will provide person-centred and joined-up support and
advice to non-UK nationals with restricted or undetermined
eligibility for public funds in Greater Manchester who are facing,
or at risk of, homelessness. Providers will also work with GMCA to
facilitate system change, supporting the improvement of mainstream
homelessness provision for people with restricted eligibility and
contribute to GMCA’s policy change priorities.
The Service has been procured across Two Lots: Lot 1: Immigration
and Legal Advice and Lot 2: Practical Support, Advice and
Co-production.
The contracts will be awarded to Greater Manchester Immigration Aid
Unit (Lot 1) and The Booth Centre (Lot 2), as per the contract
award report.
The 10-day standstill period will lapse midnight on 13/2/23.
