Greater Manchester has one of the best
nightlife scenes in the UK, and the Deputy Mayor is determined to
ensure that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy it in a safe
way.
This service will be focussed on providing support to vulnerable
individuals in and around the Gay Village area of Manchester on a
Friday and Saturday evening and will work in partnership with
licensed premises and emergency services to provide a non-emergency
support to those that are most vulnerable, and therefore at
greatest risk of becoming the victim of a crime.
This service has previously been funded via grant agreement on a
year by year rolling basis.
This decision moves the commissioning of the service to a
formal
arrangement that provides greater scope for the GMCA and the Deputy
Mayor to ensure the service is meeting the welfare need presented
in Manchester’s Gay Village.
The Deputy Mayor commissions the LGBT
Foundation to provide a Night Time Economy Welfare Scheme to
operate in Manchester’s Gay Village.
The contract is for 2024/25 and 2025/26, with two option years for
2026/27 and 2027/28.
The two-year confirmed value of this contract is
£280,160.
The potential total value of this contract is
