The Clean Air Charging
Authorities Committee is a joint committee created by the ten
Greater Manchester local authorities to enable joint decisions to
be taken as required by the Constituent Authorities as charging
authorities in relation to the Greater Manchester Clean Air Zone.
Government has now agreed that the Clean Air Zone will not go ahead
on 30 May 2022 as planned. Greater Manchester’s proposed
investment-led plan (subject to government approval) does not
include a charging-Clean Air Zone.
