Dual Diagnosis Procurement

Decision is required following a comprehensive procurement exercise, the existing provision will expire June 30th and a contract to ensure continuity of services is needed.

GMCA is in receipt of grant funding from the Department of Housing, Communities and Levelling Up (DLUHC) under the Rough Sleeper Initiative (RSI), to support the reduction in rough sleeping. Part of this funding provides for a service to upskill staff and support individuals who are experiencing co-occurring drug/alcohol misuse and enduring mental ill-health.

Preventing and relieving Homelessness is a Mayoral and national government priority.

Many of the people supported by rough sleeping outreach and accommodation-based services are experiencing multiple, complex health issues at the same time, which have led to, and are exacerbated by, rough sleeping. Access to treatment in this context needs to be swift and coordinated across both mental health and substance misuse support services.

This service directly addresses this need, by training staff on how to best navigate this complicated landscape and providing specific interventions to people in the most acute need within our rough sleeping services.
