Due to the success of the first three phases
of the campaign, the VRU has recently commissioned a 4th phase that
will continue to focus on taking a preventative approach to
tackling violence. The campaign aims include raising awareness of
positive alternatives to violence among young people aged between
10 and 25 years and reassuring young people in this age group and
their communities that work is being done to reduce violent crime
in Greater Manchester, building on the community cohesion element
of Phase 3. In the third phase, the VRU commissioned a mural in
Salford via another provider which was well received. The mural
will be co-created with young people with an aim to display young
people’s commitment to being greater than violence and serve
as a reminder of the bright future young people in Greater
Manchester can go on to achieve.
