Ofsted will:
? review the evidence bases for its most recent inspections of
local authority children’s services (ILACS) and joint
targeted area inspections (JTAIs) for the 10 local authorities that
make up Greater Manchester and aggregate the relevant findings
on:
a. Child criminal exploitation
b. Child sexual exploitation
c. Leadership and oversight of exploitation work
? provide an overview report that aggregates the findings from the
most recent relevant local authority children’s services
inspections into an overview of practice in relation to
exploitation across Greater Manchester.
The coverage of child sexual and criminal exploitation will vary
according to lines of enquiry for each local authority inspection,
monitoring visit or the subject for each focused visit. No
additional inspection activity will be undertaken.
Once Ofsted has produced and quality assured the draft overview
report, it will share it with the 10 local authorities for the
purpose of factual accuracy checking. GMCA and HMICFRS will also
receive a copy of the draft report.
All parties to the inspection will be required to maintain
confidentiality until the final report is published.
The final version of the report will be published by GMCA by June
2025.
The GMCA will have sole publication rights to the final report,
however, Ofsted’s expectation is that the report that GMCA
publish will not be an amended version of the final report provided
by Ofsted or be published in part, to retain the integrity of the
contents of the report.
